Running 35:00 [3]

Went to maitland parkrun this morning, gosh it's slower than newcastle! A bit muddy and that on the turns too today because of the rain. I went out a bit too fast, got a stitch at the 2km mark and then just couldn't hold on in the last bit. I think i beat my time for maitland though which is cool, especially with the cold last week and that, but the little kid that finished after me took my time chip so im a little unsure what my 'official' time will be ahaha. Also a little unsure how my running style was, pretty confident i just got super exhausted and looked really unco again...
Time includes warm up and down too.

Considering how lacking in energy i was after uni i was pretty happy with how this went. Started off at a quite good pace, i slowed a little near the end. Pretty hilly loop so definitely not an easy run.

Netball 40:00 [3]

I had a shocker! Think ive got myself a bit of a permanent position in GK now that the team will lose star player Rhi, so fingers crossed i will improve! hahah. Miss a bit of mid court already though...

15 min warm up
Bit of a walk around while the guys finished and then like a 10 min jog i think warm down

400m's at the track, there was 7 of us tonight so it was really good!
I did 6x 400m on a 3min cycle. Times were 89, 88, 87, 90, 90, 90. Still not feeling 100% so i stopped at 6, the cold air was pretty hard on the breathing and i got a little light headed. I cannot wait for my ears to unblock!!!

Went for a walk yesterday with mum and i felt like today was the day to give a run a go! I didnt get as dizzy as i had expected too, my ears have been blocked this whole time so dizzyness has been a bit of a pain. Apart from feeling un-fit and un-coordinated because its been like a whole week (WAH!) it was all good, thank goodness for my ventolin today though aha.
Really bummed to not end up able to go to Canberra this weekend though, looked like a pretty good weekend...

Running warm up/down 20:00 [3]

15 min jog to the start and then a little extra because i over estimated how long to leave. Felt pretty good at this stage and keen for a good run!
No warm down because...

Orienteering 1:12:11 [3]

Following logging this on attackpoint i'm never thinking of this run ever again! I dont even want to log it all because there's no way in the world it should've taken me this long! :( Started off feeling pretty good physically apart from the feeling im getting a bit of a cold, but it was nice forrest to run through again so it didnt bother me too much. I couldnt get my direction right from the very start though, even on the first control it was hard to make myself go where my compass was pointing me from my attackpoint for some reason. There was only six controls but i would've liked to have been happy with at least one of them... but my nav just did not improve! I dont know whether it was that i wasn't being careful or precise enough but i felt like i couldnt run anymore than 400m without checking my map and realising i'd gone off. I think i started to get a bit frustrated and exhausted because i honestly could not work out what i was doing wrong, and I had a bit of a moment where i couldnt for the life of me remember whether i had actually crossed a watercourse towards the end of leg number five. Anyway it ended up with me having a little bit of a panic/anxiety attack, possibly made worse by my head beating from a cold, possibly because of exhaustion i'm not really sure but i just couldnt control my breathing and had to sit down for a fair while. Finished the course because it was just a straight run back anyway. It wasnt easy running and my head felt really hot and kinda dizzy, but im glad i made myself finish, i would've been more cranky if i hadn't. Anywhoooooo, this run is now being written off and never to be thought of again :)

Orienteering race (State League #5) 36:42 [3] 5.0 km (7:20 / km)

Middle distance at Mount Piper. My legs didnt feel super fresh after the drive there and were a little sore from thursdays efforts too i think. Felt like i was able to push myself pretty well though especially at the end, and there was a few rough hills too! Lost a bit of time just from my compass bearings being a little off on a few and not looking up enough but it wasn't a bad run. Pretty fun forrest to run through i thought!

Running intervals 45:00 [3]

15 minute warm up, just jogging and then a few drills

Session felt rool tough! 100m, 200, 400, 600, 400, 200, 100 with 200m jogging in between each. My times weren't too bad but i just didnt feel like i was moving well or fast at all! Possibly because i just really noticed the difference between having active recovery instead of just rest... Had to guesstimate a little with the track markings too a few seem to have disappeared off the grass.

Then about a 10 minute warm down run and lunges etc.

I was prepared for another game at GK but turns out i had a full game in mid court which was nice! Our opponents were ridiculously aggressive which made for an interesting game aha

Jog around ashtonfield trying to focus on my new and improved running style! Super hard to concentrate on it for the whole time and i definitely went back to the dodgy shoulders up and no stride style a couple of times. Stopped for about a minute after half way to give the calves and arms and brain a rest aha.

A few little drills with the hand weights afterwards, my arms felt so weak when i was running!

Running 30:00 [3]

Nothing like a run in the pouring rain at the foreshore along the breakwall, super safe idea! It was a good run though. but unfortunately we had to skip out on strength, it was a bit too wet to lay on the grass in the rain for half an hour, a bit of a shame but we've been pretty lucky so far with the weather!

Orienteering 50:34 [3]

Minor event out at Belford. There were no flags out so you had to be on the ball but even though it was so open at times i just couldnt actually see the control stand. This made some small mistakes on 4 and number 8 a little worse just because i was extra hesitant, not knowing if i just couldnt see the control or had to go a bit further in the gully. Other than that i just wasn't running hard enough in the middle i dont think, the legs felt pretty exhausted. I enjoy belford though, super fun.

It was such a nice morning for running! Just around Ashtonfield by myself, made my mind up as i went. Some nice hills were included so i definitely dont really feel like standing at the checkouts at coles for 7 hours :| But i was pretty happy with how it went, my calf wasnt sore at all :)

Im not going to lie it was possibly the worst cycle class i have ever been to... I feel bad, but it easily could've been better if she hadn't talked for a good 98% of the class

Early morning strength outside because it was sunny when i woke up, but then it got colder and eventually started spitting... aha. Netball tonight now though, woo!

Had a bit of a go at GK tongiht, I had a shocker of a first half! luckily the star GD josh was there to hold up the defence!! The angels are back with a win though :)

Running 55:00 [3]

Good turn-out tonight, there was seven of us doing 1km intervals!
I did 3x1km at 4min/km pace, 3min recovery. I got a little slower each time but from looking at my watch it was pretty much just in the last 400m so i could definitely do better next time!
Time includes 15min warm up, warm down and some drills like last week while the guys did there last 1km, and they didnt feel quite as awful as last week thank goodness aha.

I ran in a jacket it was so cold! Calf muscle started to hurt towards the end a little bit so it was good to only do a short run, ill make sure i just run on grass or tracks for a while when i run again i think.
