St. Patrick's Park IN/MI meet 10.6 km Blue Meet 25, course 36
A good solid course that I would have really enjoyed healthy. It was also great the number of runners there were on the course. I still appreciated it but was U already feeling my cold, the heat and humidity by control 4 and things were just starting to warm up. Ran pretty well for parts (1-4, 8-15); navigation in the open areas and south were really tricky and I wasn't prepared to deal with it. The fact that they were tricky I liked a lot (and I realize how different midsummer orienteering in not fully open parks would be if we had more meets like this). Botched 5 7, and the go controls massively (For the big errors, AP's error estimate is out by 2x; overall, my lost time estimate is 20 min). The only error that I feel miffed about was the go; the vegetation was off but I wasn't both smart enough to full stop and read the contours. I should have persevered rather than running into the wedding party.

89 felt like 95 at start 83 felt like 90 at the end Couldn't do anything about limiting my heart rate but kept the pace conversational. Felt slightly less than fine which was fantastic given.
Lost about a minute due to bad cell signal when I tried to phone home.

ICO Eagle Creek Paddle-O Meet 24, course 35
A beautiful day on the lake that we started with a long running loop (crazily getting nearly all of the 1 point controls before any higher value ones). Straightforward to find the controls; the only ones that were a bit stealthy was close to the bottom of a well disguised bridge and the two impossible bags that apparently blew away in the preceding day's storms. Started a few minutes late and cleared a few minutes early. First paddle with only the smaller hedge (although we competed under the alias of our real names :?)
