Up a hill with wind turbines. Long climb, really feeling the legs, and some dogs to keep us company and instill some healthy fear.

Four intervals with longer legs, did them mass start and the pack split up a lot anyway. Relatively pleased, will write more when I take a gander at the GPS.

First interval, planned to go lower down the hill but rejoined the group because my approach was bad, spiked the third one very happily.
Second interval, very pleased with my route on the long leg, feel the line was good and my speed was good.
Third interval, attempted the high route to 1, which worked well to be fair, I should've gone down on the far side of the fence and maybe I could have won that leg like that. Only issue is I lost me head with all that extra climb and spooned both 2 and 3. Don't think the route is the problem, I think the issue is lazy thinking and not putting in the extra effort to flesh out the rest of the interval. Another wee banana to 4 and just tacked onto Flurry for the rest.
Fourth interval, I saw them head for the medium green and assumed they would navigate up the hill. I thought the left road was safer and had a good approach so I went for it. What I failed to realize is the right road is closer to the line, less climb, and still a good approach, which added up to a big L on the leg. The decision not to go straight was correct, but not gathering all the information to make the right decision there. Rest of the controls went quite smoothly.

Really some good ol sprinting. My speed was around cruising, but still maybe a bit slow across the field. Pleased with most of it. Was not prepared for the map flip at 9 and stood still for a bit before making a decision. Also being quite stupid to 20 not just staying close to the line, should have looked up and seen the semi rough open was fine.

Corridor-O. Started well but turned off early. I managed to get back in the corridor but I encountered a massive yellow patch that extended to my right, which the map did not show so I don't feel as bad about not realizing I was back in the corridor. Heard four boys coming behind me so sought them out, and on we went. Fairly painless next sector, was firmly in touch the entire time. Third sector I couldn't really tell where on the hill I was, had Pedley and Spud turning left so I joined them. After the lake they nailed it and I was too far right. I was along a bare rock hillside and didn't think I was off-line, but saw Spud coming along the hillside confidently below me so came down to join his line and reset. Reset worked, and got to the intersection fairly well, spending lots of time outside of the corridor but I had things in sight the whole time. Final bit big mistake, was trying to get going on the longer corridor but my compass direction was off. Hit a path and scouted it out for a while before the moment of realization, and went ahead with the shortcut to finish the training. More funny business not being in the corridor but my sense of distance wasn't half bad and saved me.

Middle Training

Taking it easy. I'm noticing a lot of bad lines. To 13, not facing that reentrant head on, probably afraid of the green because it looks thick. To 11, choosing not to continue along the path and taking the switchback because I thought I could cross through the woods, plus more fear not going through the bracken straight to the path. To 3, being indecisive, take the path option around or be more direct through the woods. To 8, either go to the right of the lake to go straight or commit to the path on the left, it's a slower route but safer, but I go with the in between and mess up. To 15, couldn't find the passage at all and lots of green in my vision, swear I passed those two rocks on the line and was planning to take a hard left to get to the passage but according to the trace I didn't. My lines are just seriously wiggly and need some improvement. Tomorrow we go hard again and see what we can do.
