Road Cycling 4:58:00 [4] 93.0 km (3:12 / km)

Couldnt go early as needed to wait for painter!
Was still feeling headachey and with temp.
Headed out about 9.30am for a long ride as weather for next few days looks wet. Up Gorge to Gum and almost Birdwood, then turned R onto Angas Ck rd and over to Mt Torrens - then straight ahead using back rds to Charlston, then 2km of new bikepath to Woodside. Then to Lobethal - rd nastily busy there. Onward and Upward to Lenswood, basket Range and Ashton to Norton Summit. I swear there was 1 extra hill since i did this ride last time! Last hill took 11.5 mins, can do sub 10. From Lobethal it was about 75 mins to NS. Then downhill and home.

mt bike 1:45:00 [2] 25.0 km (4:12 / km)

Good intentions came to little! Had many V moments.
No watch, no computer, no spare light and book ipod stopped working after 10 mins.
Had been to physio who said my back was very bad, so by the time i set out it was dark. Left car at friends at Linden Pk and intended doing a long ride in Cleland. Only realised half way up Chambers that I hadnt recharged my new lite since my initial ride with it last week...
So got up to Cleland entrance and little warning lite started flashing, so I turned around and rode for home. But halfway down it went out and it was very dark in the gully and no moon to see. I had a brainwave and used my red taillight to get a modicum of light that still had me bouncing from the cliff on one side to the rivers edge on the other and almost riding thru the entrance gate! Pity, as it was a brilliant mild night.
i then rode several laps up to Waterfall Gully kiosk and back on the road.

Road Cycling 2:44:00 [3] 70.0 km (2:21 / km)
(injured)

With Bal group. Rode rugged up as it was only 6 when we started and not much more later. Knew from the get go that I was still below par when i was struggling on the flat ...

Around the back of the Inverbrackie detention centre near Woodside and uphill to the quarry, then down to Charlston then back towards hills before down into Mt Torrens. We waited here and then had a mass sprint for 5 km to Birdwood, which was a bit of a worry with people not taking turns but just sprinting to and off the front.

Over hot chocolate I got a scary view of what retirement might be like when our table was discussing what they use the internet for. One guy confessed that he had looked up a video on how to fold fitted sheets!!!

I led the group thru Gumeracha and down to Cudlee Creek but I wasnt up to any effort up Lobethal Hill, and in fact Michelle C put 100 metres into me here, where i normally lead her! Back via Woodside, where I detoured to investigate where the continuance of the Amy Gillett bike trail is going on part 2 from Woodside to Charlston. The latter half is finished and the Woodside part is back from the road on the W side. Looking good.
Back still sore - due for a massage tomorrow.

walk 40:00 [2] 3.8 km (10:32 / km)

Trying to walk in new shoes unsuccessfully. Feet have got too wide.

Julie Quinn won North Face 100km in Blue Mts yesterday in record time and 20th overall. Rob Walter was 8th and Grant Bluett was 9th out of about 750 starters.

Road Cycling 4:00:00 [3] 93.0 km (2:35 / km)
(injured)

Again crook on waking.
Slept in and then struggled out for a gentle ride on my own. (Getting sick of my own company!) Visited the vets nationals criteriums at Vic Park.

Then off to Glenelg via the train bikepath and on to Kingston Pk, return to Glenelg, along to North Haven, up Torrens rd, thru Vale pk etc
Felt lethargic and legs sore (from what?) and L quad sore to touch later.
Back also very tight and sore. Temperature high and more thirsty than normal but I wasnt sweating at all. Rode a bit harder on my return as I had to meet someone in arvo.
