Classic ski 1:50:00 [3] +350m

Beautiful weather today - blue skies above valley cloud. Climbed up a circuitous route to the top of Silver Star then back down. Sorry we missed you Bash and Bent.

Classic ski 1:10:00 [2]

First nordic ski of the season. Stopped at Silver Star on the way home to get some early season skiing in. Conditions are a bit bare compared to last year. I am not sure how they are planning to open the downhill area this weekend. Most of their xc trails are open, albeit with some sections where the track is in rougher shape. All in all nice to get back out and work on the kick and glide. Skied the lower trails around the village (Meadow and Sidewinder).

Run 40:00 [3]

Back at sea level and have a day in Lima before a flight back to Canada tonight. Went for a run again along the seaside park in miraflores. Hip flexors felt sore after two weeks of no running.

Bike 2:00:00 [2] 65.0 km (32.5 kph)

Still in South America. Today rode down the famous "death road" from La Paz down to Coroico. It is no longer as dangerous as it used to be as traffic now takes the new highway but there are still big drops along the side of the narrow road. Got drenched in a downpour. Several uphill sections - it felt good to be riding a bike again.

Trekking up and over Taquille Island and Amantani Island on Lake Titicaca (at 4000m above sea level).

Hike hills 3:00:00 [3] +600m

Easy last several km to the sun gate above Machu Picchu. Kind of anticlimactic but I expected that. Enjoyed exploring the ruins and then climbed up Wayna Picchu (very steep!).

Hike hills 5:30:00 [3] +650m

Longest day on the Inca trail trekking through cloud forest and past multiple Inca sites. Winay Wayna was my favorite likely because I had it almost to myself. Hundreds of stairs today. The porters are crazy sprinting down them.

Hike hills 4:00:00 [3]

2nd day on the Inca trail. Tough climb up to Dead Woman's pass at 4200m. Highest elevation I've ever been too (although will surpass that later in the trip). Decent weather until the top and then started to rain. Kept a nice easy pace and never really felt the altitude.

Run 32:00 [3] 7.0 km (4:34 / km)

Bike 1:00:00 [2] +250m

Up and back the upper part of Tantrum and looped a bit of TNT with Courtney. Focused on riding the singletrack as smoothly as possible. Very nice ride for november 1st. Unfortunately I think I left my wallet on the roof as we drove away... :( I think I jinxed myself as I was just remarking a few days ago how I'd had the same wallet since 12th grade.
