Road Bike 53:53 [3] 14.57 mi (3:42 / mi)

Ride to Springton Manor to meet Rebekah and Noah for sheep shearing day. Incredibly windy and gusty.

Run (Trail Run) 1:06:06 [3] 7.39 mi (8:57 / mi)
shoes: Topo Terraventure 2 (red)

Run at Stroud. Overcast - perfect day for a run. Legs felt slightly less poo-y than yesterday.

Run (Trail Run) 1:05:26 [2] 6.57 mi (9:58 / mi)
shoes: Topo Terraventure 2 (red)

Never have I ever felt so terrible during the entirety of a run. Poo at the start, poo in the middle, the slightest-bit-less poo at the end. I'll blame that on junky food over the last two days and sore legs from the bike ride (still?) on Sunday.

Road Bike 3:20:56 [3] 53.67 mi (3:45 / mi)

Ride from home to KOP, through Valley Forge and Audubon Loop then back home. Warmer than I expected but I managed well enough. Nice to be out for a long ride.

Bike-Trainer 1:35:00 [4]

Rainy outside so a nice long ride on the trainer. Felt surprisingly good after the work earlier this week.

Run race (Trail Run) 21:52 [5] 3.13 mi (6:59 / mi)
shoes: Topo Terraventure 2 (red)

Innabah 5k.

Actually a race today with some runners around me. Stayed consistent and just ate into people after the hills. Final climb had me wheezing, but a nice strong finish. Course was finally a full 5k.

Bike-Trainer 46:00 [3]

Took my bike to school to go for a road ride, but the rain arrived too early. I settled for a so-so indoor ride before picking up Noah.

Run (Trail Run) 1:15:08 [4] 8.02 mi (9:22 / mi)
shoes: Topo Terraventure 2 (red)

Run at Harmony Hill. Started out hard and fast on a downhill and then flat section. Realized after mile 2 that I didn't really have the energy for that type of run today. Suffered my way around for the rest of the run.

Run 47:48 [4] 5.57 mi (8:35 / mi)
shoes: Topo Terraventure 2 (red)

Nice breezy run at Cheslen. Trying out the new Terraventure 2s - first impression is that I love the changes made, specifically to all 3 issues that I had with the old ones: eyelets for laces, more sturdier insert, more aggressive tread pattern.

Run was strong, but I needed to be more hydrated during the day.

Event: DVOA Warwick

12 PM

Orienteering race 47:43 [5] 3.95 mi (12:05 / mi)
shoes: New Balance Vazee Summitt Trai

Green course at Warwick. Nice run, but I struggled with the map in the section bordering the creek. Lots of things look the same around there. I also struggled with 13 as I misread the map and clue. I blew out my left shoe, which makes two pairs in about a week, so I need to visit the shoe store ASAP.

Orienteering 54:30 [1] 1.65 mi (33:02 / mi)
shoes: New Balance Vazee Summitt Trai

Walking the white course with Noah and Rebekah. Noah did a wonderful job and had a great time!

Hotel fitness center in San Diego. Something is better than nothing...

Run 2:15:55 [3] 11.69 mi (11:38 / mi)
shoes: Saucony Kinvara 8

Flying into San Diego I spotted some sweet trails on some hills, so I made it my goal to get to Mission Trails Regional Park before I left town. I was able to sneak out right at the end of the sessions for today. I had my eye on as many of their 5 peaks as possible, and I ended up with 3, having to descend from the final one in quickly-declining sunlight and run the road back in the dark. The true highlight was my new friend Alejandro. I passed him on the first uphill, and he caught up to me a bit later after my second peak (I had been stopping to read a map and take pictures). We got to talking and he told me that he planned on only one peak but I was inspiring him to keep going. He joined me for the rest of the run too, and then offered me a ride back to the hotel, which was way out of his way.

The views were unbelievable, the terrain was good and challenging, and I think that Alejandro was the nicest person that I've ever met. Not to be hyperbolic, but this was the best run of my life.
