Run (Inward Bound) 2:20:00 [3] ** 25.3 km (5:32 / km) +200m 5:19 / km
shoes: Brooks Cascadia

Called up to run Inward Bound-
As I have been sick I was put into div 7.
Rumours abounded that Matt would be running div 7 for Burgmann.

We took the risk of only sending out the indy scouts for 3 minutes because it was such a small donut. Of course the clue was just out of their reach, and both Burgmann and Ursies teams had left before we decided to pack up and head out to find something. About 900m from the drop was the junction of Leachs Road and Tinderry Road (signposted); so we hastily wished Indy well and powered down the hill toward Booroloomba? Crossing.

We overtook both Ursies teams about another 1km out. "Take it easy B+G!"
After getting halfway up the hill to the Jerangle - Captains Flat Road I decided it was time to take my polar fleece off as I was getting drenched in my own sweat. We covered the first 9km in about 40minutes (not slow when you're carrying a pack).
At the junction we saw some headlamps in the farmland to the south, but I still don't know who this was.
We barrelled down the road toward Anembo. Runners Knee starting to kick in here (no training with a pack); setting small goals: get to the top of the Anembo Hill and then over the river...
After climbing the hill out of the Queanbeyan River we could see three teams on the crest. We quickly caught and passed Bruce Div 6. Spent the next 5kms or so in pain trying to catch Burgmann a few hundred metres in front.
By this stage Greg's knees and hips started to blow up a bit and we were both struggling. Luckily the two over-enthusiastic first-years in our team REALLY wanted to win, and spent their time guilt tripping us until we eventually caught Burgmann. Obviously someone had blown a gasket in their team, so Red-dog ordered their indy team to break away and try and beat us in.

So we spent the next few kms sitting just behind the Burgmann Indy team until we reached the final hill up to Jerangle where it was our last chance (Me and Greg weren't going to make any distance going downhill); we pushed past them at the base of the hill, and the first-year-whip kept cracking until we had Jerangle in sight, and an escort car followed us over the hill and into the oval (endpoint).

We finished about 800m in front of the Burgmann Indy team. This definately felt like the hardest IB I have run. Would have been fine had I been able to train for the last few weeks.
I think that caps off my IB career well: 3 wins from 3 races.

Never Again.

What an epic bunch.

Inward Bound Mock Drop #2 (I missed the first one)

the super short show-down.
We won by about 15min (which is a massive margin for the distance)

Finally after an epic week of 'back and forth' versus the doctor's receptionist; I went into the surgery after mentoring, cutoff the doctor between patients; and got an answer. Typically ambiguous: Apparently I need to go back to the pathologist again in a fortnight because my white cell count is still low; but I can start exercising again. Why couldn't he tell me this on Monday?

anyway I immediately headed home and went for a run.
Felt great (legs a little bit 'concretey' though) and took it probably a bit faster than I should have.

Now I need to rewrite the program, and account for the 4 missing weeks.
