Note

Had my appointment with the physio;
no running for a few meeks (it may be only a fortnight if I heal quickly enough).

Really bad ITBS; I hadn't noticed, but my knee is actually swollen.
and Really bad LTF
She said this was because my glutes were pretty lazy and I had be putting all the work onto the LTF (particularly the right one).

so icing, stretching, Pool work, and riding for the next fortnight....

Easter day 3

I don't think 'collector hill' has too much going for it.

Took my local pharmacists advice and had some painkillers before the start. Made it about halfway around before ITB was really noticeable.
I think I know that hill too well now to ever justifying coming back to the map.

Despite, illness, injury, and related unfitness, still felt like I had the legs in me a bit coming into the spectator area / last quarter of the course.

A few navigational wobbles out there - as to be expected for first course since November?
Was reasonably satisfied with my time. Think without injury I could have easily been 10minutes faster; and that would have put me in the pack (faster with some training!).
So still some hope!

Easter day 2

Hip and knee still noticeably sore when I woke up. Did not have big expectations for today. 2kms uphill to the start! By the time I got there, both knee and hip had already started playing up. Luckily I was starting with Postie, so got some quick free physio advice.
Made it through the first 5 controls (the technical part of the course) with only one navigational hiccup, then running down the big gully to 6 the ITB packed it in. Decided to cut off the loop through the paddocks and headed over the big saddle and through the last 7 controls or so.

Very fast course; and always a nice area (anywhere south of honeysuckle is in my books). May go back and run it for training if I get inspired.

Decided not to run Sunday; the knee/hip couldn't hold up to 5km (+2km) today; so best not exacerbate it and not be able to run the final day at all.

Looks like ACU will bow out of this year's uni champs.

Orienteering race 20:00 [3] *****
shoes: Brooks Mach 7

Easter prologue sprint.
First race back on the scene!

Decided to wear flats which was probably a bad idea, my ITB blew up almost immediately, and then a further 2km of limp-running on concrete made my right hip flexor just as bad; a few jumps down stairs later, I found I couldn't run anymore and hobbled in.

DNF!

bad start!
