Big engineering v law footy match in cold wet windy weather... that certainly didn't help me with trying to avoid getting smashed. Law thrashed us by about 8 goals... but I ended up being top goal scorer for the engi team... with two goals in the final term (not saying much really since we only got 6 goals the whole game). I was pathetic for the first half but was enjoying it in the second half when I got into it a bit more.

Short run in the dark... Knee warmed up pretty well and wasn't very painful after 5 or 10 mins. Other than that felt pretty good, haven't dropped too much fitness, but I'm certainly not feeling as good as I had planned a few months ago. Enjoyed the run, so at least that's something good. Cooled down a bit then had a good stretch after.

Someone must be trying to tell me not to train again... cause hurt myself yet again today... this time walking into a tow bar. F@*king hurt like hell at the time.. my knee's just a bit sore, lumpy and stiff now... after all the hits my knees have taken over the years they should be tough enough to handle this one.

Waterworks. Got there late, so just grabbed a map and timed the course myself. First 3 or 4 controls were missing (already collected) which was unfortuante since it was a pretty cool start. Fun course...

Touch race (Grand Final) 40:00 [4]

Big winter grand final against stingrays... they finally fielded a full team for the final which made it a pretty even game. Was a bloody fast game and everyone played pretty well.... Scored quite a few tries through really good touch moves which was good. Won 9 - 5 in the end after a tight first half.

Felt like crap this morning... but ran anyway cause Emma wouldn't run if I didn't... and also wanna try a few days of training and see how I cope. Felt like I was running and 1/2 pace, but couldnt push it much further. Running in the soft ground made it even worse. Not the most inspiring course in the world either... glad to have done it in the end. Feeling ok afterwards.

The plague still hanging around... but decided to go for a run anyway, keeping the pace pretty easy. Settled into an ok pace... but felt pretty ordinary... certainly losing a bit of my fitness at the moment. Was going ok until about 35 mins when my throat and ears started to flare up and generally started feeling pretty shit again... so cut off the last loop and went home. Hopefully won't feel any worse later tonight.
Heartrate was pretty high, but that is expected.
Been so long since I've gone for a longer run around the tracks at home that I forgot about the bloody dogs. Got caught out by surprise tonight by a dog that doesn't normally cause any trouble cause it's fenced in. Was laughing at it running along and jumping up on the fence beside me barking its head off until all of a sudden the fence disappeared... I shat my pants and took off in a sprint.

Last rostered touch game, against easybeats. Won 15ish-3 in the end, but had a bit of trouble in the first half... struggled to keep our defence together. Started playing some pretty good touch in parts... I was absolutey rooted during the first half... probably quickest game so far this season, and I was probably doing a bit too much of the work. Second half was good tho.

Pretty enjoyable event. Wasn't really looking forward to it since a) I had been sick, b) I had hurt my hip yet again when drunk, c) feel like shit since I haven't been training and d) just generally felt too lazy to bother. However ended up being good fun.. kept up a reasonably solid pace for most of it. Only lost 1-2 mins on the first (didn't see it on the other side of a fallen tree) and 30 sec on 22.

Had a bit of lunch then met Timmy and Kenif for a ride from Mornington around the Meehan ranges on some new tracks Timmy found. Bastard of a climb to start with and I felt bloody awful.... but the rest of the ride was pretty awesome... some really nice downhill single track. Got to laugh at Timmy sliding all over the tracks as well which was enjoyable :) Looking forward to riding there again. Heartrate was pretty high... but probably not surprising.

First touch game for a while due to all the wet weather and being away... against the second team (Panthers) and with only one sub. Thought it would be a pretty tough team, but they didn't have their best player (the prancer), so it wasn't so tough. Disappointed about the try they got... probably one of the softest in history. Didn't have much speed at all out there, probably combination of the cold and not playing much recently. Fairly happy with the 15-1 win tho.

Road ride with Timmy and Damo to the top of the hill before Kingston... decided not to keep going down cause it was very likely Damo wouldn't make it back up again. Been feeling a cold or something coming on today, so was nice to have an easier ride to try n keep it away.
