You guys should consider going to Kentucky A-meet -- if you have that weekend available. It may be a different level of competition but it should be great fun.
We were considering it, but we are busy that weekend this year. We definitely plan on checking out an A-meet next year to see what it's like.
Thanks for the heads up though! and Good Luck!
I am in a process of canceling unfortunately -- my in-laws are in town, so I will be probably busy otherwise.
Flying Pig happens every year, and it'd be good to have a stronger SMOC representation. I also love going to Canada -- always great meets up there.
We'll put flying pig on the calendar and try to keep that weekend open. Any suggestions on keeping our navigation skills up over the winter? I'm not sure its quite natural for us yet, so beginning of April might be a little rough with a few months off before that. We're looking at doing racoongaine in Pittsburgh in March, so I guess that can be the refresher.
We will try to keep the training mailing list going.
Also, you could volunteer to co-host one of the spring meets, and spend some time checking out some woods and designing courses. :)
Co hosting is awesome...and I am always up for just grabbing a map and bumping around.
we would definitely be up for co-hosting! I think we would learn a lot.
On an unrelated side note, back when you started the training email list, I hadn't been getting any emails from the normal SMOC email list. I still havent gotten anything, and I assume something has probably gone out for the last couple meets. Any idea?
Let me check with Karen. Our official mailing list is managed through vertical response site, and it's a bit of a pain. Not sure if our schedule is hooked up to it this season.
Ok, there will be reminders for the rest of the season. Thanks!
