Running 1:00:00 [3]

Running along the strip in the early morning. I skipped yesterday's run hoping to get some sleep, but that really didn't happen either. Glad I got out today even if it was running on roads/sidewalks.

Strength 55:00 [3]

In Las Vega for a few days. Got up early before I had to go to work to hit the gym. Not a bad hotel gym, ended up getting a pretty good workout in.

Cycling race 3:30:00 [4]

So I signed up for the Steaming Nostril because I thought it would be fun to try a this race and I wanted some longer training. I definitely got the later. Started out ok and was going at my own pace. The main pack had taken off, but I was still riding strong I felt. The weather was pretty good, but the wind was terrible. At about the 25 km mark my glutes started to really tighten up on me. I jumped off the bike and tried to stretch them out. This wasn't working at all and the cramping was really painful to the point where I couldn't sit on the bike at all. I took some salt pills and drank a lot of my nuun and just tried to continue on. Needless to say I was passed by a lot of people at this point. Eventually I started to feel better and could pedal again smoothly, but by this point I was pretty sure I was in last place.

The last 10 km of the course was pretty interesting because they used a lot of farmer's lanes to link up roads and a trail that went by the river that was pretty ice covered as well. Made for interesting riding.

I'll probably have to do this one again to redeem myself, but probably not when I'm travelling as much as I am now.
