With the MS Bike Tour coming up K-Way and I wanted to get out for a longer bike ride. We went up to the Bruce parking lot on Grey Road 19 and from there did a longer loop. A very enjoyable stop on our way back at the Ravenna general store. Our legs were sore and by the end we were struggling with the climbs, but a beauty day to be out riding in the sun. We wrapped up our weekend with lunch in Creemore before heading home.

Running 1:24:55 [3]

My day started with a pre-run of part of the Summit 700 course. I ran from 8K to 19k. Had 2 signs that were removed and I had to put back and one trail crossing where I had to tie the tape across the trail. Tried to use this as a training run, so tried to run all the uphills (minus the climb from the very bottom on the dirt road). Near the end I had to walk a few.

Then it was time for my sweep duties. I always enjoy this weekend up in Collingwood and enjoy helping out. It was a very eventful race this year. Here's a quick summary

- Met Willy who was 72 years old and from the Philippines, learned all about his family and how as a young adult it was his responsibility to pay the way for all his siblings to go to school. Eventually we had to time him out as he was moving very slow and struggling on the hills.
- Had to help a woman off of the hill after she had a really hard fall in front of me. She said her chest was hurting probably from the impact of the fall.
- Had to help evac a woman who was having an asthma attack. What was amazing about this situation was 2 other runners stepped up and were already helping the woman when I came across them. They had called 911 and were doing everything they could to take care of her. We got the Blue first aid team there and they took over.
- Met another woman who's knee was really sore so helped her to the aid station around 16k to get her a drive back. She had already stopped with her daughters to help another woman in distress. First Aid was taking her back to the base by the time I got up the hill.

This year was definitely different than years past. I was either walking very slowly with someone at the back, or running for multiple KM to find the last runner. I loved the whole experience. We then went back to the campsite for a swim, some beers and a campfire. A great way to end the day.
