After another trip to Guelph to pick up our pooch, I wanted to squeeze in running and voting before dinner. Then - duh - I realized that the activities were not mutually exclusive. I ran to our polling station, which meant an unpleasant 500 m out-and-back along the shoulder of Hwy 50 but otherwise my route was on rolling gravel roads and on single track in Palgrave East and West. My major wildlife sightings were on the road, not in the woods - a doe and a young raccoon.
I hightailed it for home after seeing dark purple-grey clouds marching in our direction from the southwest. I missed the heavy rain by less than 2 minutes. 'Bent, who had just fired up the BBQ, was less lucky.
