Mountain Biking 1:37:00 [4] 25.0 km (15.5 kph)

Got in a solo ride tonight. Weather was perfect and forest was extremely quiet as I managed to do 25km and see only one other solo rider. Awesome. Good thing for my GPS though, or I would still be roaming around the forest in the dark (eating bark and roots) trying to find my way out. If there is one thing I would love to see more of in Durham, it is signage.

Trail Run 37:00 [3] 5.25 km (7:03 / km)
shoes: Salomon XT Wings 2

Quick loop in Heber Downs with simpy. Had a few breaks. Once when simpy's cell went off (and he actually answered) and another when I took a spill over a root and filled my arms full of mud. Note to self: Next time you run into darkness, bring a headlamp.

Road Run 1:01:04 [3] 10.2 km (5:59 / km)
shoes: Saucony ProGrid Guide 3

Road run fueled by Smoke's Poutinerie (small order of Hog Town Poutine to be exact). Surprised I wasn't sweating gravy and cheese curds. That would be the ultimate post-race meal.

Mountain Biking 1:23:00 [4] 20.3 km (14.7 kph)

Didn't look like this ride was going to happen. Leaving work the sky was dark and some sporadic rain started. The forecast was for thunderstorms and simpy had to cancel at the last minute. But I just couldn't face the substitute road run, so headed to Durham forest on the chance things would hold together long enough for me to get a quick spin in, and they did. Started at the north, worked my way across the road, down to the fence and climbed back up. Finished up with Superfly and the Maze. Avoided the major climbs, and had a nice relaxing solo ride.
