I have been easing into the pace lately and finding it works to keep the leg destruction to a minimum.

1% grade.

6 min @ 9:00 pace
2 min @ 8:00 pace
22 min @ 7:28 pace
21 min @ 7:13 pace
9 min @ 6:53 pace

I don't know if the treadmill heart rate monitor is accurate (the metal handles you grab), but I may have confirmed my suspicions: I work a generally higher heart rate than I thought: 7:15 pace around 170 bmp...not great, but I felt like this was my marathon pace. I was at 181 BPM at the end of my run, which makes me believe either the machine is way off (likely) or my real max heart rate is closer to 190+. I just wasn't working that hard. The 6:53 marathon pace is not sustainable at this time. I am just not in good enough shape.

Nice to bump into a bunch of the 413 crew including Amy and Brian. 6 x 800 with Damien and Brian. Brian is a rocket, running what looked like 2:30-2:35 800s.

With damien. Damien took me on a trail I had never been on before. We started at Log Cabin Function Hall and ran as if we would do the usual hump straight up, but 1/3 the way up we went right and up the back side above the reservoir lookout, then dumped out at the B17 monument and took the orange dab trail at the monument (another 1st) over to the ridge. Ran the Rideg, DOC, Quarry, Reservoir and looped back to sart. Mileage is a guess.
