Orienteering 11:55:00 [4] 25.0 km (28:36 / km)
slept:0.0 shoes: Salomon XT Wings 3 IV

WRC Cont'd

75-101-72-34-84-53-62-90 to 7am for 550 pts and 12k straight line distance to wrap up the dark travel. Stumbled on 101 and 84.

91-69-102-58-95 then a long trek back (13k more) to the finish with just enough time to grab 22 and 25 before time ran out.

The last 8 hours of travel could be the most painful I've ever had in a race as my feet were out of control, worse than Untamed. Fitness was never an issue despite all the climbing.

Relative to the event I enjoyed the course/area. Some of the cp locations such as 71 were actually just hillsides which was a little annoying but everyone had the same map so I don't understand the issue. I didn't expect an orienteering map with vegetation, fence rows, barbed wire, etc mapped. Yes more could have been done regarding roads/trails but If after the first couple of controls you hadn't figured out that those features were not always accurate to navigate by then that's your own issue.

Relative to the SI problem- Seems like quite an oversight not to check that system as rigorously as the course setting in an event of this stature.
