West Point NRE - Brown X Middle on Black Rock Forest map. 2.4k, 90m. Hills, some blueberry, and rocks plus some steep hills and more rocks. Great visibility, a great map and a challenging course. And quite fine weather - mostly sunny and about 60F.

Had a good run, although a lot of it was walking with rocky footing and blueberry to bash through. The course was somewhat of a control pick with most of the legs between 100 and 200m. A few smallish errors but found all the controls where I expected them. Some hesitation going to 7 taking time to figure things out (and not get drawn off by a few people searching further uphill of the control). Swung wide going to 12 which sent me through some slower terrain. AP has me with about 1:20 lost. Third overall on Brown X, and in M65.

Sprint on Trophy Point map. Brown course, 1.6km, 40m. Many other activities going on so lots of people wandering around. Sunny and in the 60s.

Not a very good race. Overshot both 2 and 10 (which was pretty straightforward). Lost a full minute by not seeing the hedge on the map which was the feature I was looking for and ended up on the wrong side of a wall. As I finally got it figured out, Charlie DeWeese was approaching, having made up most of the minute he started behind me. So I spent the rest of the race trying unsuccessfully to get that time back (and contributing to my bobble at 10). Fun race, just not well executed. Fifth on Brown, about 1:20 behind Tom Nolan in first.
