West Point Lake Popolopen Middle - Green Y (F40+)

Things were going really well until 6, and I still don't know exactly what happened there. I was higher than I should have been to start with, but I was right by the control several times and had trouble making sense of things overall even though I could pick out some of the other features and knew I was in the right general area. Finally I just dropped down where I noticed a lot of other people going and indeed the control was there.

Then to 7 I was headed right to the correct rock, but for some reason felt the need to go to the bag I saw off to my right even though it was obviously too close to the rocky hillside to be my control.

The rest of it was fine, just more barberry than I would really prefer to deal with in that last section.

West Point Camp Buckner Sprint - Green (F40+)

This was really a lot of fun, but as is often the case my legs didn't have any zip left and I walked a lot. I was 2nd by 11 seconds though and I think I certainly could have pushed that much more. Navigation was pretty clean and I made mostly good route choices and didn't get trapped anywhere. I did bonk my head on the underside of one canopy section of barracks, luckily not hard.

There were a few rumbles of thunder during this, but the storms ended up not coming through until later in the evening and overnight.
