Running long 1:42:10 [3]
shoes: Asics GT-2160

Cockies run from Hacket. After my usual 10 minute warm up run I set off with robw, hoggster, Shep, Big D and Frogga. The other groups were MaryMac with Toni and Phoebe with Jotaigna. We started heading south then Hoggster turned right up the hill towards the saddle on the south side of HH. Near the saddle I peeled off and ran up Tricky Track and got to the saddle ahead of the boys, and then stayed ahead of them (just) along the rocky track heading to the top of Ainslie. Down the main path from Ainslie and saw a stack of people coming up: Jill Walker, MaryMac and Co, and Lizzie who turned around and ran with us. I tried to run well as we ran back around the bottom of Ainslie and stayed in front the whole way which was really good for me. Mind you they are just chatting away and I am just running. We kept going past the cars where Lizzie left us and headed North, including a slight diversion from the usual route to connect with the bottom of the Triple Tri route. Hoggster had to leave at this point. When we hit the fire trail the other four kept going on the main walking track up Majura but I went left up to the stile on the TT track and then took the direct route through the bush to the top of Majura. I found this soooo hard today ... my glutes were very sore. I managed to come out on the top just as the lads were heading back down so I ran a bit quicker to catch them up. Once we were off the steeper section at the plateau the pace seemed to pick up and I was just hanging on even though it was downhill. I felt stuffed at the end but in a good way. I wore my new running shirt today - really comfortable.

Hoggster had the girls and no car so breakfast was at Wilburs. Muesli and mug of skinny flat white for me; MaryMac also had a skinny flat white to balance her bacon and egg burger (not sure there is much balancing going on there).

Running 29:00 [3]
shoes: Asics GT-2160

Run from home to CISAC via Evatt, McKellar and JKP.
10 AM

Gym - cardio 55:00 [3]
shoes: Asics GT-2160

RPM class at CISAC with MaryMac. Brendan had the cooling and fans on from the start, but I was still a bucket of sweat by the end.
4 PM

Squash 40:00 [3]
shoes: Asics GT-2160

Game of squash with Heffer and Harry at UC. Only $5/hr for a court before 5pm is great value. Really enjoying the games and Heffer is improving rapidly and Harry is pretty good, but also very lucky .... he keeps finding the crack between the floor and the wall and the ball just dies.
6 PM

Bike - Road 41:35 [3]
shoes: Specialised Taho

I put my new tyres on this afternoon so decided to take the bike out for a spin. The tyres are a bit heavier than the original ones but they felt good, and it probably makes stuff all difference to my riding, plus I wasn't concerned about getting a puncture anymore. I did a loop around Spence, Fraser, Dunlop then back along Gininderra Drive and wiggled through Evatt back to home. The sky was dark and ominous in many directions but luckily no rain, but a stiff headwind on the way back.

Gym - strength and conditioning 1:05:00 [3]
shoes: Asics GT-2160

Body Pump class at CISAC. I upped my squat weight a tad and also on the back track. Plus my biceps didn't feel too bad so maybe I am getting a bit stronger. I still laugh when she tells us our heart rate should be maxing out at some stages.

Met MaryMac at CISAC for a swim. I haven't been swimming for a very long time and was dreading it a bit but it was OK and I wasn't that bad. Had a quick chat to Treadlie who was ploughing up and down in the next lane and looking very impressive.
7 PM

Ride home from CISAC via Coles to help with the shopping.

Running 1:08:00 [3]
shoes: Asics GT-2160

From AIS athletics track through AIS and around to northern end of Dryandra St to meet up with MaryMac who was planning to re-run the O course from last year. I took a spare map and navigated between the controls just sticking on the tracks. Good fun, and nice to be running in the shade of the trees.
