Run out to the K.L Towers, got a little worried on the return that I was getting lost until I hit a familiar street which got me back on track.

Swimming race 55:38 [3] 3.8 km (14:38 / km)

Non wetsuit swim, group of four in lead group, fourth out of water, first age grouper out of transition onto the bike. Given my lack of swimming this was a good result. Two female age groupers where out first, and they did a great job of towing me around the course.

Cycling race 5:13:56 [3] 180.0 km (1:45 / km)

ok 36 minute p.b awesome result on what is not an easy course. rolling hills, felt very strong till about 100km, at the 120km stage i had closed on 3rd female pro(15 minute head start), then stuggled out of town into the headwind, 120-140 km was tough but came good again and rode solid for last 40km. 2nd best bike time for my age group, and still first in m25-29.

I havent added up the splits yet, but pretty sure i negative split which shouldnt happen. Got sick 8km into run (all fluid) then couldnt keep anything down. then a cupcake of all things cured me at about 16km. I have an aussie to thank for getting me back running slowly to 21km then picked it up. I should have won my age group, only needed a 3:58 marathon. so now to look for the next ironman and win a spot to kona.

End result 5th age group, only 2 spots but i now know i have the ability to qualify for kona.

started 6th, passed peter on way to 6, passed jock towards ten, then back to fifth to eleven had one last little dash at jock at the finish, but there was no room to switch my legs into fifth gear to make the pass.
Finish order - dave, andy, josh, jock then myself. Second run was just a running race. Off to malaysia now.

An awesome bike, a little bit heavy on the climbing but when down on the carbon vision bars its smooth sailing. Still a little too nervous about cars at the moment and cant wait to get onto langkawi where there will be heaps of room. Leave on saturday night cant wait for the big day. Been three years = way too long.

after playing touch for 30 minutes i was considerably warmed up and went for a run around the ring road.

holsworthy to eastern creek plus a few laps. Then race. Ride back to holsworthy. 9pm when i got in the car to drive home.

Swimming warm up/down 5:00 [3]

Kept swimming before the race wanted to get a few more metres in.

Swimming race 12:00 [4] 0.8 km (15:00 / km)

started 50m to the left of everyone else, came directly on the first bouy, tide was pushing everyone right. Fairly decent swim.

Cycling race 32:00 [4] 20.0 km (1:36 / km)

What a diference in bike postion. riding on the giant, shitty aero bars, yet still passed someone in my age group on a cervelo p3 Only passed by one rider.

Running race 19:00 [4] 5.0 km (3:48 / km)

Ran easy first lap then picked it up after had one of my fellow age groupers pass me, felt comfortable all the way and got stronger. Finished fifth 5 secs off fourth.

Running tempo 23:00 [3] 5.0 km (4:36 / km)

After having a cup of water and getting my chip off headed out again onto the course. Technique was good, im lighter than usual and pace was right for ironman.

Sydney summer series, castle cove.
490 points minus ten point- 480.
Glenn was leading on 500 when i left. I think the 60 points to the north east that i missed could have been picked up as averaging over ten points a minute. I dropped a few of the out and back ten pointers. Ran well.

Ok ride got cut short due to being hit by a car. Heading eastbound 1km east of the tolls on the M5. This was ment to be 180km day.
But went to hospital and discharged about 2-3 hrs later.
Now to find a new time trial bike!!!

Orbea, cervelo p3 p2, argon e-114, giant trinity? Anymore!! Colnago, BH, BMC, Pinarello, Trek, De Rosa, ????

The wet road helped with minimising the grazes I got flown probably about 50m up the road from where i was hit. Car spun out of control, i was in the shoulder , right front of car hit me. Im a lucky man. Now for a week sick leave hopefully to fit my last hard week of training in perhaps.

BFA test. Great time , great to be running on a road that doesnt have turn after turn and rolling hills.
