Orienteering race (fin5 #5 chasing start) 52:18 [4] *** 8.44 km (6:12 / km) +100m 5:51 / km
spiked:15/16c

Really solid run. Caught guy started 3 minutes ahead at #4 and pulled him through to a pack of about 5. Feeling fresh going into the long leg where i lost decent time again (should have stayed with the pack) running on my own is always slower. Think the pack i was with must have broken up a bit because over then next few controls I passed most of its members. Roughly the same people rejoined and I led them through 2 more controls before everyone else went straight and i round the path. On my own again. Path was decent though and rejoined them just before control with everyone still together. Someone else leg into this control which was good because it was super tricky and i hadn't read any of the detail in the circle. Over the top of the hill and down the hill towards the arena. Out of the 4 of us left at this point one guy got dropped coming into the second last control but 3 of us punched together. I need to work on my speed if I want to win run ins because they both out sprinted me in the 400m across open forest to the last control and into the finish.
Super fun race with minimal mistakes and pleased to still be feeling ok after a month in Finland. Fly home Sunday.

Orienteering race (fin5 #4 middle) 33:25 [4] *** 4.47 km (7:29 / km) +50m 7:05 / km
spiked:3/8c slept:10.0

Awful run and mispunched! Ran way to fast, got fulled off by the wrong track on #1 and lost 2 minutes. Bad compass last 6 minutes on #2. Apparently didnt even go to #4 (i did). Overall pretty bad, means i will be starting at the back of the chasing start which might be fun so whatever.

Orienteering race (fin5 #3) 53:46 [4] *** 6.88 km (7:49 / km) +100m 7:17 / km
spiked:5/6c slept:9.0

Really weird course. 3x long (1.5km) legs then three really short middle distance style controls into the finish.
Ran a really solid leg 1 going pretty much straight.
Legs 2 and 3 were pretty bad. Think i got a fairly decent routechoice but really find it hard to keep a solid line/speed. Seem to wander and lose urgency on long legs. Gey stuck in some green and waited yet more time, should have just fought through it. Say it had been a short leg through the green i expect i wouldnt have wasted so much time. Ended up losing 10 minutes to the leader although i was clean on #3. Need to work on this.

Running warm up/down 20:00 [2] 2.0 km (10:00 / km)
slept:10.0

In quarantine

Orienteering (Fin5 Sprint) 17:35 [4] *** 3.82 km (4:36 / km) +10m 4:33 / km
spiked:15/18c slept:10.0

Solid run. Wasn't the best prepared going into quarantine but relaxed in the sun for an hour and felt a lot better. Quarantine was pretty cool, in a big pit with an track in it, just outside the city walls, ran through tunnel to get to start flag and out up a ramp to loads of spectators. Running elite feels weird and some spectator run throughs were nice.

Made some mistakes from to much speed and maybe some dodgy route choices here and there, but generally good. Probably lost 1 minute total.
