Trekking 4:00:00 [2] 9.1 mi (26:22 / mi)
shoes: La Sportiva Bushido

Sorrento. Gusty seaside wandering. Hoping the winds abate for a proper coastal hike on Tuesday.

shoes: La Sportiva Bushido

Sorrento

Trekking 1:20:00 [2] 3.0 mi (26:40 / mi)
shoes: La Sportiva Bushido

Hike around Castelmezzano. It started snowing as we finished - beautiful.

Trekking 2:00:00 [2] 4.5 mi (26:40 / mi)

Matera
9 AM

Trekking 2:00:00 [2] 3.56 mi (33:43 / mi)
shoes: La Sportiva Bushido

Rocky hike around the Matera cave dwellings. Felt S’s weight in my hips with the uneven footing.
1 PM

Road Run 46:25 [3] 4.07 mi (11:24 / mi) +552ft 10:07 / mi
shoes: Topo - Mtn Racer 1

Brought the Matera O-map with me and played around on it a bit, but mostly just went for a run around the city - broots went out on the course last night and said that it was (a) significantly harder than Rome and (b) pockets were pretty isolated, especially in the dark. Dimly lit cobbled streets had me careful with my footing, but I felt light without the weight of S in the ergo - another fun night run.

Note

Trekking 3:00:00 [3] 7.0 mi (25:43 / mi)

Stairmaster-ing through Matera. Up and down thousands of steps today, walking through town.

Trekking 4:00:00 [2] 9.1 mi (26:22 / mi)
shoes: La Sportiva Bushido

Last day in Rome. Traded the baby for the heavy pack for most of it.

Trekking 5:00:00 [2] 11.7 mi (25:38 / mi)
shoes: Topo - Mtn Racer 1

Planned for a quieter day to give Z’s little legs a rest, but somehow still ended up covering almost twelve miles. I did some solo early this morning but she walked about ten of it herself. Broots helped with shoulder rides here and there. Earning that daily gelato.
2 PM

Orienteering 1:00:30 [3] 4.29 mi (14:07 / mi) +174ft 13:36 / mi
shoes: La Sportiva Bushido

An embarrassingly poor but fun attempt at an old o-course around the forum. I tried to avoid a few more isolated walkways and ended up on a parallel route that seemed to just work enough for a few CPs, until I was totally turned around. Eventually, I gave up and just ran to the coliseum and then troubleshooted my way back to our apt.

Lungs and ears still not 100 percent, but it felt good to run - and I felt good being out (until I got back, when my chest wasn’t happen)
