Trail run 1:20:00 [2] 8.0 km (10:00 / km)

Weather was perfect for today's trail run! Everything was going great until Paul said the "S" word :( That's right he made us do staggered start up "Can't do it" hill. I know poor us right or should I just say poor me :( Passed Grace then Marc took the lead but Paul didn't overtake me this time. Victory is sweet my friend. I am sure that will be the only time I beat him but I will bask in the glory of it the whole weekend :)

Swimming lengths but focusing more on proper arms and building speed. Just like running I am slow as a turtle compared to Grace and even Julia. I should be faster with all the pool time I put in but to be honest I usually just tried to work on proper technique and wasn't too concerned about speed until it was brought to my attention last night that I should be faster at this point. Of course Paul was right again.

So much cooler to run in tonight. Didn't make it any easier but it was bearable. Paul gave us a choice on what we would like to do and choice a sounded harder so took choice b which was not any easier and in fact probably harder because we did not do just one stupid staggered start but 4!!!
I know horrible isn't it. Did well in the first one, sucked in the second and third but wait for it....I nearly beat Paul in the fourth one! It was so close but his speedy feet passed me right at the end :( Oh well, I am sure there will be many more staggered starts in my future.

Was at the track and the only good thing about it was the weather wasn't too bad at all but then I start to heat up really fast with all the laps we had to do. I hate the track but know it is necessary if i want to do better at my next 10k and half marathon next spring.

Went for a bike ride along the water front towards Brock Road and a bit beyond. Wanted to take on both hills on either side of Brock and for a split second of pure insanity I actually thought of doing hill repeats, shook my head and thought to myself "what the hell were you thinking", lol! Need to get a bell for the bike, I got real tired of saying "beep beep" over and over to the walkers along the path. Thinking of also asking Santa for a road bike for Christmas :)

Bilateral breathing is becoming much more natural for me but I think my stroke is suffering because I am concentrating too hard on the breathing. I know it will all come together eventually. I also get a lot of water in my ears now that I bilateral breathe so not sure why that would happen. I am going to try and keep pace with Grace for a few lengths next time which will be way out of my comfort zone.
