Trekking (Little Woods) 38:23 [2] 2.6 mi (14:46 / mi)
shoes: Brooks Cascadia 10

Time is moving time, but my phone must have only recorded moving "fast" time, because I was actually out for almost an hour and a half. Took the dog, who was done running less than a mile in; the rest was an easy hike as the sky got progressively darker. Had no headlamp, so I finished out on the CC course and got slightly lost.

Adventure racing race (Tomahawk Challenge) 5:57:00 [3]
shoes: Trek MTB

Skipped 5 point trek since we could get more points for our time on the bike. First four singletrack points. Chuck loved the trails, I was in a bad place mentally and was very thrown by riding along the edge of a reentrant. Nighttime singletrack is definitely something I need to work on. Skipped other singletrack points and grabbed one more off the bike. Both of us were struggling with sleepiness. Maybe should have sucked it up and gone after two more singletrack points over one more off the road, but we probably made the right call. Finished second in our division and felt pretty good about our race.

Things that went well: eating for the first part of the race; once we got into the canoe this didn't go as well, and once we were on the singletrack I just kind of lost interest in eating. I got in enough to not bonk, but more food might have improved my mental state and sleepiness. Physically I felt strong, which was particularly nice following Sunday's ICCP race, but I'm definitely feeling the edge of overtraining hitting me. Less racing on tap for the next couple months.
