Biking (MCT trails) 1:56:54 [3] 30.0 mi (15.4 mph) +315ft
shoes: Airborne Delta CX

Solo ride - MCT Goshen to Heritage to Marine Rd to Nickel Plate back home. Headed out before Jacob's game. Ended up having time to ride another 6-8 miles and still *probably* be home in time to ride with them, but oh well. Did some intervals after warming up then decided maybe I should take it a little easy since Chuck and I are riding hills tomorrow.

Had planned more miles, but last-minute invite to Patrick meant trading mileage for company. Turns out my legs are slightly unenthusiastic about being on a bike. Spent as much time checking out the outlaw trails and a new gravel road as actual riding (only moving time is reflected in total time). Ran by pharmacy on way back and passed house about a block from my old house where a police officer was shot today. Lovely.

Biking race (Tour of Hermann loop 4) 4:24:34 [3] 52.1 mi (11.8 mph) +2556ft

Time is moving time. Elapsed was almost an hour longer.

Started loop 4 with Bob, Luke, and Robby. It was fun rolling the first 17 miles down the Katy Trail together, group started to fracture once we hit the hills since Luke and Robby are so much stronger climbing. I was in no man's land in the middle for a while until realizing how stupid it was for Bob and I to both ride alone. Had an awesome time riding with him the rest of the loop. Met back up with Luke and Robby towards the end as they came our way adding on an extra 10 miles for the Cup o' Dirt challenge and finished the last 4 or so miles in a driving rain with 30+ mph headwind once we hit highway 19 into Hermann. Epic finish. :)

Saddle area felt pretty raw, but the rest of me felt pretty good, especially considering the 96 miles I rode yesterday. We took things at a chill pace today, and I ended confident I could ride the next 50 but uninterested in being out on the course for another 5 hours alone.

Max speed 43.2

Overall, TOH was a very confidence-building weekend. Definitely need work on climbing hills and being able to keep pushing on flats, but to finish knowing I had another 50 miles in me was pretty awesome.
