Just shows there's life in us old dogs yet! I found it really useful to have a goal in the year I turned 50, mine was to break 40mins for a 10k (I'm too hit and miss at O) which I just managed. It helps keeping thing in focus and not dwelling too much on the milestone.

Fantastic race today, thoroughly enjoyed it. So much the better as we did our own thing, mistakes and all, yet were so close.

Thoroughly recommend Paula's Thursday night intervals - certainly no pain, no gain. I think she secretly yearns after Martin Hyman's Tuesday night session in The Meadows she did when she was young and fit.

Not sure I enjoyed it until afterwards, but it was an epic battle.
Look at how much time Andy Hill made up on the last hill to beat Greg... still not the 50 seconds I needed :)

I used to love/hate (mainly hate) the Thursday night Sheffield intervals. I think it was about 6k to run there, then the intervals, then run home, then out to drink. Good grief.

Isn't it going to get dark after DST at Beauchamp ?

Sounds a good M50 battle. I had similar with Quentin Harding (World Champ @TM)yesterday. Looking forward to one with Undy on Cannock Chase in September;-)

Rob Pearson's Thursday intervals in Sheffield are no more but Martin Hyman's on Tuesday on the Meadows are still going I believe...

Martin used to coach Paula (my wife) in the distant past. She keeps up with the news via Margaret (Marin's wife) when she's over on her annual visit to see Pakit. Seems the intervals are still a part of the Edinburgh running/O scene.

We'll need to get the start times rigged so that we all start adjacently (I'm assuming that Phil is up for this).

Ask for a very late start and we'll all be on the same elephants tracks at least...
