orienteering race 34:01 [5] ** 6.35 km (5:21 / km) +130m 4:52 / km
shoes: Inov8 X-Talon 212 (#2)

Trotting out the rarely used intensity 5.

Metro League, Mount Annan. Usually hate areas like this - low technical level, trying to push yourself harder the whole way round, grass and hills.

Shingo caught me early, saving me from being DQ'd as I leapt OOB and back (map was way wrong vegetation wise at this point).

We then had a tough head-to-head the whole way round - despite the area being open we both made small slips, letting the other one ahead and kept each other honest on the hills. Attempted to gap Mark on the last hill, as he seemed to take off slowly, but we hit the ridge together.

At least we got wins over Mike Burton out of it.

I'd realised that Mark was getting faster than me in January - was interesting to race head-to-head. May have to roll out some interval training before Easter.

Bumped into Stix above golf course, then Gill and a bunch of orienteers (including the Pepstar).

Knocked a km off the GPS measured route... bring on the Aldi GPS watch !

soccer 26:00 [2]

Soccer - nothing to win or lose. Stopped a zillion shots, but let in 5 (we lost 5-4, down 4-1 at half time). Did get nutmegged, but it was fun playing much more aggressively.
