Fine looking routes, particularly for someone inexperienced in this terrain. Looks like you did a good job of picking the right speed to travel at. Much better to be clean than to go a bit faster and screw up.

I wish we could have had pictures of each of the WOC93 competitors when they got their first glimpses of the map. Although many of them were doubtless steely-nerved and fearless, I'll bet that at least a few were a bit intimidated. Especially because they were looking at the same map, but at 1:15000.

Remember that the WOC competitors got to train on a section of the map at 1:15,000 beforehand, so it didn't come as a complete shock.
