I'm amazed the skis didn't come out the moment you got home!

Also intrigued by the job application needing to be in by a GMT time...

Yep, takes some severe negligence to wax this poorly, you will do far far better!

Moment I got home = 1.30am, not too tempted... day time was fantastic though, t-shirt skiing weather!

And not a UK job, we astronomers are just very dedicated to GMT =), actually in Boston at the CfA. UK is not so long on the astronomy jobs at the moment....

Are there trails groomed already, or do you just ski in the road?

It's such a shame they screwed up the funding councils in the UK, it would have been a great place for you to go five years ago.

Hope you enjoyed the ski, sounds like fun! And congratulations on yet another highly successful weekend.

Should the Men's WOC Criteria now also read "must have beaten Ali on the majority of occasions that she raced you?!" :)

You mean, should there be a men's woc team?

Skiing on areas usually covered with grass- safest for not-super-thick snow, if ski goes through, not hopelessly scratched up! So was verges of roads and around the soccer field complex at UMass, not super exciting, but skiing!

Yeah, lots of good astronomy has and probably will continue in UK, but they aren't getting to expand, really only try to keep alive the positions already in existence... of course, severe budget cutting also underway here in US, will have to see what exactly that means.

Fun racing the guys =)
