i was so happy to have a meet here, as this is in the town i currently live. since this is the closest place for me to go walking, i've covered a lot of ground at horn pond. finally having a map was pretty exciting...and orienteering was a breeze (i did yellow course--am a beginner as you probably know.) i should have definitely done the orange, but did get an orange map to practice. i really hope there's another meet at horn pond in september because i think there are a lot of areas that are interesting there, like the pine forest (you swear there could be elves living there.) as i head out into horn pond with my new map, i'll be curious to discover what has changed since 1992 when the map was created. anyway, thanks for being involved in the meet, i enjoyed it.

Glad you could make it out! I have scheduled a meet for Horn Pond in September, though I was considering moving it to somewhere else in the Boston area. As you say, the geographic location is inviting, especially since there are few maps north of Boston.

Well, if I didn't make it, there would be something seriously wrong with me, as I live 5 minutes away. :) Anyway, all the way up at the top of the 'mountain' at the very southern part of the map, there's a great view of Boston. I vote Horn Pond for September but I'm very, very biased and a beginner - I can see how it would be less interesting for some of the more advanced orienteers. Hope to run into you again one of these days.
