naahhhh you were just scared of how fast those kids were going and the fact that one of the kids high sticked his mother badly leading to a big cut and blood on the ice and her face.

Though I will admit you did pretty well. A lot better than I would do in my Aussie football debut.

Congrats on a strong month of training. you were clearly the fastest person at the race yesterday and navigating well too. If I were you I would have run to the finish and then gone back and searched for the SI later.

I'd say my Aussie Rules coaching tips would be even worse.

I wanted to keep running to the finish, but since I was leading at that point and breaking trail, I didn't want another 50 people running through and packing the snow down potentially where my SI card was. It was the right choice as my card had fallen exactly in between my footprints!

Well done. Now on to the cross country stake skis. And tomorrow you get to experience your first real live blizzard. I'm in for tnt regardless of weather.

I'm super pumped for TNT in the blizzard2 conditions
I'm thinking an attempt of skiing on the weekend. Will take any offers for some newbie pointers - I can promise much comedy as I'll be less concerned about looking the fool (as I do whilst on the ice surrounded by a bunch of school kids, literally skating circles round me!)

Get ready to fall in a lovely splayed out fashion with your legs out to either side and body on the snow between... assuming you are trying skate skiing ;).

Thanks Salal for bringing that up... my first attempt at XC ski-ing, I spent more time face planting in the snow than actually skating!

Toph! I didn't realise you were in the Great White North. I'm actually flying west next weekend, but no skiing for me. Come to the Sprint Camp in Vancouver.
How long are you going to be in BC?
