Your team was one of the ones that made it exciting to watch! Big shout out to the course designers. The trek rogaine made things especially unpredictable compared to a lot of exped AR.

If we had looked closer we would have realized that it was perhaps a better idea to travel the big trek in the clockwise direction. We hit all of the optional controls early in the leg which left us no other option other than to get all of them even on bad feet.

Maybe your lack of options at that point in the race was a good thing, given how close you ultimately came to clearing the course? In the final leg, you were able to make accurate time estimates and know which optional CPs you needed to skip to arrive at the finish close to the deadline without undue stress. During the trek, you would only be guessing so you might drop more than you needed to.

More importantly (for us), it was *so* exciting to watch teams go around the course in opposite directions! :)
