That's one of Noah's favorite spots! Lots to see and explore.

Somehow we had never been there before - it was great!

Do you have the orienteering map of Mt. Misery? We're not allowed to hold events there anymore, but it might be fun to have the map when exploring.

I feel like I saw a large map of VF once a few years ago. I've always thought that it was the perfect place to orienteer - shame that won't let it happen.

DVOA has several maps of VF - the large one you're remembering plus some smaller ones of areas to the west, including one of Mt. Misery. We orienteered all over VF for several years, always drawing huge crowds, especially beginners. But at some point new park managers decided that our off trail use was a problem and so we haven't been allowed there for a while.

We don't have it, Sandy, but I'd love a copy if you have an extra! I'd happy be to swing by and pick it up, or just assume I'll run into you in the park sometime soon :)

Definitely have extra and happy to let you have them. I have 3 maps - Mt. Joy, Mt. Misery and Fatlands (across the river).

Thanks, Sandy! Let me know the best way to get them from you.
