Unfortunately, no. I mistakenly bought the non SLab model (no wonder they were so much cheaper). They could be fine…it was just the downhill that annoyed my big toes. And likely we won't run down hills like that in South Africa but I'm not willing to take that chance.

Wings? What size are you?

Fell cross but the SLab. I LOVE them and they work SO well for me. I'm a 9.5. they feel oh so lovely on my feet.

Darn, my feet are smaller. I saw them at the Salomon Store last week though. Those are my fave orienteering shoes.

Btw there isn't a non-S-Lab Fellcross so maybe you got Fellraisers? Kyle Peter was using them for AR for awhile. They fit very differently. They're actually my go-to shoes when my toes are blistered or injured because the toe box is so tall - but I don't wear them much.

The Slab fellcross 2 are the ones I tried yesterday and they hurt my big toes...I'm so confused because the ones I wore for Bigfoot and PYP (which were like slippers) I thought were the exact same...maybe the ones I had then were 3's?? Oh goodness, it shouldn't be this difficult.

Maybe. I've worn the original S-Lab Fellcross and the S-Lab Fellcross 2, and I would have bought a larger size for the 2s if I hadn't ordered on the phone. I haven't tried S-Lab Fellcross 3 but they've undoubtedly changed a little too. I've sometimes found differences in fit between two colours of the same shoe - or two "identical" pairs of skis. Sooo tough.

Thanks so much for your insight! Maybe it's just all in my head…

I doubt it! And even if it is, your head needs to be happy in an expedition race. And your toes too, of course!

OK, I'm confused, too. However, I'm confused most of the time...likely due to living in a foreign country and not having an adult-level grasp of the language still. But that's another story...

S-LAB FELLCROSS to the S-LAB FELLCROSS 2 had some minor changes but the last on which they're both built is the exact same. Moving to the S-LAB FELLCROSS 3, the last is the same but the overlay material on the upper is quite a bit different. It doesn't absorb any water but it also doesn't stretch as much as the synthetic of the previous two versions - many fell runners like to have a close-to-foot fit and this is what this model is built for.

Shameless plug - The FW15 update, now called the S-LAB SPEED, is going to be the bomb!

Awesome! Thanks so much, phatty. I put a pair of Fellcross 3 Slab on hold at the Salomon Toronto store. What will be more interesting, is me driving downtown...kill me now.

We look forward to the Slab Speed!
