Note
(sick)

Went to bed last night with a sore throat and woke up with a very nasty head cold that knocked me flat. Luckily, we spent the day watching most of the star wars franchise, so i just laid low.

Note
(injured)

Somewhere near this time my intermittent upper back and L bicep and neck discomforts ganged up on me all at once, and added in the L forearm and occasionally L pectorals. Mostly only hurts when laying in bed or standing still. Burt when running some vague discomfort that prevents me from feeling like intervals are in order, not that i'm ready for intervals. Was scheduled to see doc Jan 7, so didn't do anything, but got pushed back to Jan 12 by a scheduling snafu. Dr. ascribes it to 'muscle dysfunction' that causes neck pain that has radiating effects, with perhaps some tension. rx of naproxen at night to let me sleep, xray to check on neck, and PT to work on the neck. PT starts Jan 15 - Becky's take is that poor posture is key here (slouching when sitting, neck forward; she agreed with my thoughts on adjusting work posture (now standing desk) at work. She says the Xray shows some degeneration of disks in neck. Has me on neck stretches, regular visits. Seems like a good prognosis. (written Jan 17)
