Walking (treadmill) 29:20 [2] 2.0 mi (14:40 / mi)
shoes: Saucony Shadow 6000 8.5 # 3

At the Y, incline at 1.0. TVs worked today (they weren't on Sunday -- perhaps the cable hadn't been fixed yet?).

Followed by a cool down slower walk, 5:40, 0.33 mi.

Followed by another nice warm shower (running water -- yeay!).

Note

On the way to pick up a sub at Quiznos for dinner (I hadn't cooked since Thursday), Glen called my cell and said he'd gotten the answering machine (not the phone co's voice mail system) at home! Hooray -- that meant the power had finally been restored.

It went off around 2:00 am Friday morning; came back on for 10-15 minutes shortly after 6 am, then was off for good until this afternoon. Among many other branches that came down in the area this past weekend, an evergreen branch had pulled an electrical wire off a pole just up the road from us. That branch got trimmed off the wire yesterday, and the wire was restrung today around 2 pm. As I left to go to the Y around 4, I could see them working 1/2 mi down the road on another problem area. The counties and towns are wondering where they are going to put all the downed logs and stuff too big to grind up.

I don't think there are too many left in my county without power -- perhaps just folks back the dirt/town roads. I'm thankful we live on a county route; [though the folks 1/4 mi from us on the state route had power last night]. And that we have a woodstove and enough wood, which kept us warm; and enough camping supplies (though we don't camp anymore) to store food and heat up water.
