I registered for the Team Trials and did not sign up for the banquet. I choose to pay less than $39 for dinner that night, and I worry that the menu would be too rich for optimal recovery.
It turns out that my run yesterday, however slow, was the longest training run I have ever done (excepting the Dover Raid, which was more of a shuffle). I feel a little tired today and my right achilles was occasionally bothered yesterday, but it was clearly well within my capacity. January is going well.

Easy recovery run followed by 4x Walnut St hill repeats. Walnut St is about 22m tall - or about one index contour. Or about 1/15th of the climb on the middle distance course at team trials this year. Ouch.
It was cold: -7 C; standard SLS/SL, gloves, balaclava. Splits were 1:31, 1:25, 1:22, 1:21. My typical time for hill repeats is 1:20 on Walnut, so I was a tad slow today.

Two sets of tuckups, oblique crunches, plank, kayakers, and supermans; one minute each, two minutes rest between sets. I finished with 2 minutes of side plank. Need to do plyometrics.
