Walk (Commute) 45:00 [3] 4.5 km (10:00 / km)
shoes: New Balance

Cold. Fingers were still attached on arrival which was a surprise. The BOM said 3.4C but it felt colder.
6 PM

Jog (Commute) 27:30 [4] 5.5 km (5:00 / km)
shoes: New Balance

I stopped my watch on way home when the skies opened up and soaked me before I could get under cover and put my raincoat on. After a nice 12hr day it was exactly what I needed. Had planned a longer run home but decided at that point to cut my losses and head straight home. Shame really because I felt like I was running ok.

Orienteering Training (Watts Gully) 1:24:37 [3] *** 6.59 km (12:50 / km)
spiked:5/7c shoes: Mudclaw

Took a guy from work who is keen out for a bush (midweek) event. It was his first use of compass so it was an educational exercise as much as anything. He's not run fit either, and certainly no terrain legs. The course was only 3.5kms so you can see we did lots of wandering as I let him get a feel for it and decide on route choice which did involve a few errors - one of which I compounded by not actually looking at the map and went down wrong gully and was looking on wrong side of spur then made 180 error in attempting to relocate. Kind of funny really. Then I decided to run one leg hard and meet Nath at control but he thought i meant for him to skip one meet at next. I raced around when I realised he wasn't coming or was lost and thought I'd be responsible for a search party. Alas no as he made his way back. Overall it was a great way to spend a few hours of a workday.

Walk (Commute) 45 [3] 4.5 km (10 / km)
shoes: New Balance

Legs were a bit stiff and it was cool and dark with that hint of damp although the skies were the clearest in the early morning for a while. Its funny because every morning I listen to ABC News Radio and I could comment on so much around Sports, Economics, Politics. I choose not to. Seems tho when I read social media so many others do which is fine if they knew the facts and circumstances rather than espousing their own beliefs regardless of what is reported in sensationalised headlines. its one of the main reasons I won't run for any political office - who needs that level of invasive scrutiny.
5 PM

Jog (Commute) 37:42 [3] 7.1 km (5:19 / km)
shoes: New Balance

Run home with Don via slightly wider route so didn't head as far east as recent times. Legs were heavy which does concern me with a rogaine only a few weeks away.

Orienteering race (Rock Oyster) 1:24:11 [4] *** 8.4 km (10:01 / km) +305m 8:29 / km
spiked:18/22c shoes: Mudclaw

Covered 10.2kms on the M45A course. Really happy with this run although no power up the hills. Took longer route choice to 2, was slow on long leg to 7 and was too high on 9. Not happy with 14 as ran over the top of creek top and just didn't see it so overshot but not by too much. Too far nth on 17 as came down wrong spur but only out by small distance before having a miss at 18 that was frustrating as didn't come down far enough. In hindsight i can see my error was where I came out of 17. Rest was pretty good. Not sure 10 and 11 added much value to the course....!
