Discussion: 2012 Ski-O?

What's the expected date of the Sierra ski-O week next year? I don't see it on the planning calendar yet. This is supposed to include US Champs and a World Cup round, correct?

Yeah, that's what I was afraid of. I'm going to go out on a limb here and say it's not a good thing that the Empire State Games were just moved to that same week...

Yup, those dates. And they're pretty totally unmovable. The venues and races have shifted around a bit from whats on the baoc site, but we're working out the last details now. Four World Cup races (S/M/L/SR), and [hopefully] three days of US champs and NA champs (S/M/L), plus a few more bonus races that don't count for anything except bragging rights.

The ESG date change wasn't supported by the sports, but pretty much forced on them by the greater organizing committee. Evidently biathlon has a serious conflict, too. No telling at this point how it will all play out.

I was going to make the suggestion that with it moving from end of the season to middle, and from 2 days to 4, and now allowing out-of-state participants, that it could possibly be made into more of a festival type event like Sierra and try to raise the profile. However doing that on the same week as you guys would just be stupid.
