A listing of people living, at least part-time, in New Haven who have orienteered in the past year:

William H - broken wrist
Claire B - broken leg
Mike G - broken wrist
Marie A - patellar tendinitis
Kat O - plantar fasciitis + knee problems
Boris G - proximal hamstring tendinitis
Mattias G - hip flexor
Becky C - hamstring strain

This is ridiculous!

To add to that theory, a list of people who have been my primary training partners at one point and where they are now:

Misha L - hip problems, out of orienteering
Kenny W - foot and back problems, took long breaks from orienteering
Sergei Z - ankle and knee problems, took long breaks from orienteering
Csaba G - leg problems, taking a long break from orienteering
Kat O - taking a break from orienteering

Is it a curse??

You are cherry picking here. There are plenty of other people in New Haven that aren't broken.... you just don't know any of them.

the list of people that have been your primary training partners is rather grim though... better find someone new and use that person as a test case :)

At least in the case of Kenny, it looks as though the effect is reversible..... that's a good thing
