First race of the Kelso weekly race series. The first lap when great; didn't kill myself on the first climb and was able to pass a few people in the trails before the downhill. Had decent legs on the second climb and was going well at the top and then bam...flat. I took a rocky line that was more direct than the main trail and this was my undoing. Attempted to change the tire but I think my spare had a hole (I probably put an old one into the saddle bag!). Unfortunately, the mosquitoes started to find me and had to hike the bike out while being chased by the bugs.

Still had a great time and can't wait to try again!

Rode an anti-clockwise route around Milton from home and then up to Georgetown which I didn't really realize until the ride that it is a very gradual uphill from the 401 to G-town. Stopped for a chocolate bar and water refill and felt a little better but then was gassed 20 minutes later (the heat likely had something to do with it too!). Was glad to get one 6th Line for the mainly downhill ride home. When I got home, I needed to lie down for a few minutes to recover (much better than doing a run off!)

It was super windy (good for all the new windmills they put up along the route) and then was pretty wet and cold just before Creemore. Stopped for a coffee and butter tarter and called Nik; was facing a head wind all the way home so asked her to meet me half way...so sad, I know!
