Note
well after three days of head banging, I am where I was on day 1:
I can produce contours that would satisfy me for training as well as 80% of our audience.
I can produce an image of vegetation that may or may not be right, assuming it is right, it would satisfy me and 80% of our audience.
Things I wish were possible:
native arrival of KP contours w/ trimmed form lines with the correct symbols. It seems like the .png gets that but the dxf doesn't? The PNG looks fantastic, much like I would trim them if I had four hours to do so.
I have tried two dozen times and I can't get dxf veg out of Terje's scripts. I am 100% sure it's operator error, however I don't know what I'm doing wrong. Also I wish it was slightly less fussy.
Still debating .ocd. Is it worth $10/month to be able to generate smooth contours that are correctly sorted by type (contour, form, index)? I have the OSM import working in OOM so that .ocd wizard isn't the same bonus it once was.
As Miclimber said in his post, this is all more complicated than it ideally should be!
Positives:
Camp D Bar A shows potential. 1800 acres, KP thinks 80% white.
Bald Mountain South looks like a potential venue, certainly enough terrain to keep Red out for an hour.
I can probably do all of the city parks I want to train Harvey.
