Biking 49:38 intensity: (22:41 @1) + (23:11 @2) + (3:19 @3) + (27 @4) 9.57 mi (5:11 / mi) +35m 5:08 / mi
ahr:119 max:151 weight:172lbs

Slow ride with lots of excuses (yes I'm probably out of shape for biking) such as it seemed the wind kept being in my face and the tires were low with no standard pump to be found.

FCH3 Ghost Trail set by SheeWee. Nice tour of Mt Hope cemetery. I think I was the second one on trail. It looked like VM may have gone early enough to spot the hare on trail.

Back to Durand Eastman, this time to do part of the western permanent course from the golf course parking lot. I continue to struggle with reading the map on my phone and gave up trying to estimate distances at all.

There is a new training course at Durand (thanks Rick & Linda!), so I went over there after work today. Sadly, my phone died on the way to C12 - I didn't know Durand could be a battery-sucking location like Webster Park, so I should have been in airplane mode. I knew the rough location of 12, but didn't spot it, then went to where I thought 13 was, but I think I needed to go farther north. I had not looked ahead to the last 2 controls, so I just ran in. I'll have to try again sometime.

Out for another neighborhood walk while Christine's lasagna cooked.

CBH3 Rona trail from the Hopkins Point park entrance at Mendon Ponds. An early check had me find later trail backwards. When I saw the arrow in the wrong direction, I knew something was up. Eventually I found true trail and carried on. Only saw 1 of 2 promised BNs, which apparently was decorative only. Surprised to see no one else at the parking lot before or after.

Luke and I went down to Rattlesnake but we got separated blasting thru the green on the way to the first control, so I didn't see him again. I could not find the cairn for #4 even though it should have been easy, just 150m(?) or so from the property corner that I came from, parallel to a stream. My biggest problem was that I had no idea what the scale on my phone was. The north lines did not seem 500m apart, so I couldn't measure anything. Also did not find #5, which also should have been pretty easy as I found where the stream and ditch left the road. By that time, I just had to head in and do the last 4 controls.

Had a nice socially-distant visit with Walt and Patty afterwards.
