Every Tuesday and Thursday for the past month I have had the girls run the Mountain Bike Trails on the North slopes of Harbin Park. Over the weeks their familiarity with the trails has increased to where they are very comfortable with running them at their own pace, and thus alone in the woods. For the past two weeks we have been running every single trail there is, for a total of about 6 miles. The nonstop up and down is quite a work out. I have always joined them but in the interest of trying to coach and just keep an eye on them I have been doubling back and cutting the loop holes and thus not running a single end to end myself.

Today I went all out and finished the 'course' for the first time at my tempo pace. Wow, what a work out. It felt great. I wish I could do that every day. 6 months ago it was no more than a dream. Today I am satisfied.
