Golf 5:00:00 [1]

Played in Staff vs 6th Form round at Portal Premier Course.

I really enjoyed it. Hit some awesome tee shots, was good with iron and sunk a few decent putts. Also had some disastrous holes, but fortunately it wasn't stroke play :) Oh and me and Sutty were playing as a team where the best shot is the one you both get to play from next shot. Didn't help me loads cos Sutty had never played before and only hit one better than me off tee when I completely fluffed it. Gave us two chances on each putt though ;)

On Parr 4 whole with Stroke Index that gave us an extra shot I got it in the hole in only 3!!! Best hole I've ever played :D

Only managed 14holes before we needed to leave for social, but dead fun.
Oh it was raining periodically and stupidly windy which didn't help...

Swam in outside pool, but it was really salty, but I thought it went quite well. Overtook a few people and only got overtaken by two right at the end. (Overtook both in the transition).

Decided to put GPS watch on before I got on bike cos almost crashed at Wilmslow when I was fiddling with it on the bike. This slowed me down, as well as the fact one of my stupid socks got stuck :/ Still decent transtion.

Wind... Absolute Nightmare!!! :( It was sooo strong. I thought generally I was going pretty fast, so I don't know where I lost so much time... Seemed to be doing 32+km/h most of the time. If it was totally flat it'd be fine. I screwed up some gears on the uphill sections and lost far too much momentum.

Came flying off bike, really fast transition straight into shoes and off.

Off bike my calves were burning so had to take pace out of first half of lap and nurse my legs to stop them cramping, but after I shook that off I nailed the rest :) Felt really good. Overtook everyone :P

Same route as last time. Nice fast roads with a slow section down Batemill Lane through to Over Peover. Its a shame it started to rain here, so I had to go quite steadily down hill :(

Day 3 run at lunch with Bezy and Will. Went down the footpath we found last week to Cuddington, then a short 2km(ish) run round robin back down same footpath. Cut across a footpath we saw on the way there which lead us over the railway, and ended up coming out on road that has The Oaklands on. Not a nice road to run back along, but I enjoyed the rest of the route.
Will struggled to keep up and had to stop a few times to let him catch up, but to be fair we weren't hanging around. Oh and he got blisters... Don't think he'll be full of enthusiasm to come out again any time soon.

Legs felt a bit heavy and almost as if knee wasn't quite right, but it was Mr Hough who knackered his Hamstring so I took rest of session. We did 400m @ 25 per 100, followed by 100m at 18s then 400-200, 400-300, 400-400. Managed 74 for final 400, so just out on 18s, but not bad considering.

Watched Cavendish win Giro Stage 10, and thought leg could do without impact of running, so braved the semi-wet roads for a nice 20km spin. Back roads were considerably wetter, but I tried to stick on main roads where the volume of traffic had pretty much made it dry. Fortunately there was no rain whilst I was out.

18k (ish) on A50, I was on big ring at a really nice pace of 36-38km/h, but suddenly felt like I got a stitch in my chest (weird), or like I'd pulled something and my breathing fucked up, so ended up back down at 24-28km/h for next 1-1.5 km. By Townfield Ln I felt relatively normal, so took pace back up to 30+.

Back roads were slow. Absolutely flew up hill on Batemill Ln after too close for comfort encounter with a car on the descent.

One of our last Day 6 games lessons, so we went to Marbury Park and did an orienteering thing followed by balloon olympics. Was quite fun. Shame only 30% of year went... Others missed out! :D

7s... was knackering, and a Jimouis (pronounced juh-moo-eee) flopped onto my leg after tackle and seriously dead :/ Can barely put any pressure on it which sucks!!!

Long run with Bezy at Lunch/Free. Down A556 to Cuddington, then through a load of fields/footpaths near delamere park, and back past quarry. Nice route, and longest run I've done in ages!

Was a bit worried since it rained last night quite heavily, but it was very windy and the roads had dried out quite well.

Swim went really well, just under my target time of 8mins.

First 10km were brilliant, then hit the wind, and I couldn't get back above 30km/h for about 9-10km :/ which really hurt my time. Pushed it as it got a bit more sheltered but calf started to go, so couldn't go all out as I needed my legs perfect for run.

Drafted behind a Bentley!!! Proud moment :D There was another rider ahead and the bentley and car in front were stuck behind her, so I just sat behind the Bentley taking a much needed ease off (whilst keeping same pace) Almost overtook Bentley, but didn't want to go on outside and inside was too narrow...

Tranistion Time: 0:34min
(really annoyed cos they asked me to clip helmet back up even though I swear I was never told at any point I wasn't allowed to unclip it when in transition zone...)

Was trying out all kit today. Goggles that are dead clean and look brill let water in however I adjust them which sooo annoying!!! Hate the swim cap, but on the plus side, I think I managed to reduce the drag of my 2XU top. Wore it for my practice swim and it was fine.
A lifeguard stopped me on way out and asked me if I did triathlons. She said I should go down to a swim session at Moss Farm cos it should help me improve my technique. Good idea tbh. Just need to find time to fit it in.

Drove to Wilmslow and checked out where triathlon is next Sunday, and then tried out the bike course. Wind was all wrong. Tail wind on first 6km side wind on next section that nearly blew me off, and then head wind almost stopped me dead on way back. Plus I didn't really know where I was going, so overall really glad I did it and hopefully it won't be as windy next weekend.

Short fast cycle along Middlewich Rd to pub, left down to A50 and then back up wash lane (old run route just not through shakerley mere). Wind down to A50 was brutal. Not as fast as I would've liked but I'm blaming that on the cycle this morning and the wind.

Fastest I've ever run this!!! Which is probably because I haven't run it in ages, but dead chuffed after having done cycling already!

Last 200m down lane was torture as I saw clock coming closer to 24:00 and trying my hardest to break that barrier as wind pushes me back with a stupid amount of force... Did it though :D
