JWOC training on an area relevant to middle race.
Warmup for a few controls, then the kids run in race speed the second half of the course. I collected the flags.
JWOC training in Karst terrain with huge pits, 3-4 contours deep, and complex vegetation. Interesting but difficult.

JWOC training in Karst terrain on map where trails were deleted. did a map walk as a group to review the terrain and check certain control features, like coal burning platforms and root stocks.
Temperature gone down to 29C, much nicer.
JWOV middle training at Zeleny Dvor. Again very open forest with fast running. Hot, hot, hot, 37 C on the car thermometer on the way back from the training.
After a sandwich lunch we drove to the river where it was a beach and had a nice dip to cool us down.
First training in Kosice, Slovakia, on the Bankov training map ~5km away from our lodging at the Technical University campus.
Very nice open forest. The green on the map would not even be noticed on a Ottawa map.
Very hot and humid weather.
Arrived in Kosice Slovakia after a bus ride from Budapest.
Alexander, Trevor, Kendra, Kerstin, and Emily R.
Got our rooms and a bit of rest. Then a sprint training on the Technical university campus where we staying.

Great running training with Francis. Warm-up orienteering running every piece of trial in Frank Ryan park, with hidden controls, then interval loops on the main trail. Felt fast.
4x single loops at 2:27, 2:24, 2:36, 2:32,
2x double loops (forgot to look at watch)
2 x half loops.
My GPS run out of battery before the end of the practice. a couple of loops missing.

Summer solstice-O #4 at Britannia Park and Mud Lake. I had a good race, maybe 30s hesitation on a small trail in the Mud Lake area before I realized where I was and found the control. People around for most of the time to help push the speed. Second place overall after Alexander!
