I was on the receiving end of a "Can of Whoop A**" today. @nd day cycling with the Foyle Cycling club. A little odd for me to start a ride by downing a mouthful of cough syrup, but if that is what it takes.....

The pictures I posted of the mountain I was going to run, We went over it. twice. The first time, I was on the steepest portion of the hill, and my chain fell off. Instant stop, followed by panic, followed by a fall as I tried to yank my feet out of the pedals. Good Humor.

Big climbs mean big downhills. I don't really feel comfortable on the really fast twisty downhills, so I was getting dropped on the uphills and downhills.... i found out later that Saturday is for the "club", Sunday is for the racers....

On the way home, we were going about 18-20 in to a wind, we turned a corner and the group took off at 25 mph.... I made my way in, struugling to maintain 18 by myself for the last 4 miles. It was great fun, but humbling. My first rides in three weeks, I shouldn't be surprised by the struggles I had...
