Now over in Kalamunda in the Perth Hills to watch son #2 play basketball. decided to go for a run on the Bibbulman Track, which kicks off just down the road. Decided not to go the full track as that would be a 2000km out and back run. Just headed out for 43 mins and then turned around at a convenient landmark. Very tough going. Not only was it quite hot and dry at that time of day already, but the track was really rough for most of the way and I really had to take it easy in order not to break a leg. As it was, I turned my right ankle several times, but not badly. Very hilly and so good training effect. Very nice to be in the Australian bush again - not much of the smell of gum leaves (too dry for that I guess) but to run through the eucalypts, grass trees and granite of the region was superb. For my next run here, will need to find a fire trail circuit as teh track is just too rough for my aging legs.
