Running (AZ) 1:17:00 [3] 18.0 km (4:17 / km)

Did all my Christmas shopping in the morning, cooked a family Christmas dinner in the afternoon. In between I popped out to visit Craigroyston Grove & Place in Pilton and Craigs Avenue & Bank in the far West. A nice triangular run in NW Edinburgh.

Oh the weather outside is frightful… wet and windy but mild at least so no chance of slipping on an icy pavement. At least that's what I thought until I found myself lying on the ground. Burst water main, thick ice across the pavement, dark street, legs went from under me. Big bruise to my gluteus maximus and tore my lovely Celeris jacket on the elbow. D'oh. Forged on to Craigour Avenue, Cres, Drive, Gardens, Green, Grove, Loan, Place and Terrace regardless although I had all manner of aches and pains for the rest of the run.

Had a brilliant encounter on this run. I'd just finished jogging the length of Craigmuir Place when a lady pulled up in her car. She asked if I knew where West Pilton Loan was. Of course I've not been there yet but I had my photocopied page of the AZ with me and managed to find it quickly and give her directions. As she pulled away she said "Thanks, I couldn't have asked a better person". No, I thought, finding one of the worlds 11 best urban speed navigators, with a map in his hand, about 200m from where you want to be, is about as good as you could hope for.
The rest of the run was fairly average. I think I'm coming down with a bug. Boo.

Finished off the Craigmount's on a beautiful frosty morning. (Grove, Grove North, Hill, Loan, Park, Place, Terrace, View, Way.) Feeling good.

5x2km off 90s with the Iten boys. They were supposedly running at 85-90% effort. Given that I was running a steady 10km pace (3:10/km) and getting dropped, I think they were cheating.

Running warm up/down 4:00 [3] 0.7 km (5:43 / km)
