Mountain Biking race 5:12:00 [2] 55.0 km (10.6 kph) +1240m

Polaris day 2 - felt a bit rough today, a lot less chatting but what we thought was a decent route....a lot of fun off road! That was until we saw the scores at the end. Not sure what we chose wrong but we moved the same pace as yesterday, just didn't match the scores of the others. Dropped to 17th overall, Now with the 2 mixed pairs and 2 female solos ahead. 1st female pairs overall.

Mountain Biking race 7:08:00 [2] 72.5 km (10.2 kph) +2000m

Polaris Day 1 with Rosemary. Started in Askrigg, finished at Carpley Green. This was planned as a trial of the Harris/Byde pairing for open 5s and a bit of fun given it is only 4wks post terrex. We had a great day, loads of fun in the sun :-). Chatted a ridiculous amount and probably debated routes a bit too much but finished 1st all female team with only Chris and Barbara and Dave and Julia ahead of us in the mixed pairs. 11th overall. Much better than expected!

Rest before polaris. Got a bit of bag packing and tent weighing to do. Getting excited about it after the power I had on the way to the ride yesterday. Given a couple of days hopefully the leg heaviness will disappear and we'll be away :-)

Ride to bike tree - cutting it fine for shop shutting and needed to buy a couple of things that went missing off my bike at the sting. Overtook a commuter on a road bike who then tailgated me :-)

Bike tree ride. Legs pretty tired for the climbs and I need some new lights now its actually dark! Standard over to porter brook, up to the top, lady cannings, ox stones, houndkirk, blacka, dore pub! Then back to the bike tree after

Ooooo looked at the last time we did this and we were moving a lot faster and I was on the specialized not the massi....this is going to be painful if I keep going to track!

Track - first time in ages. Went pretty well considering.

2x5min, 2x4min, 2x3min, 2x2min (first off the track, second on the track). 75sec between reps. Missed the rest between 5 on track and 4 off track as ran to the loo - payed for it a bit.

5min on track = 1290m
4min on track = 1010m
3min on track = 790m
2min on track = 540m

Felt good on the 5min rep but don't have a pace above that really so was putting in a lot of effort on the 3 and 2min reps for not much return. Hopefully that will change over the winter.

Run to circuits. Over lydgate and sandygate, down Tom lane then through the parks. ITB a bit niggly by the end, think loosening my feet off the other week has revealed all my weaknesses on my right side
